snakes and birds
Simmy thought the snake on our mirpeset could solve the bird in the fireplace pipe problem very well, but I was not willing to pick up the snake. So Sim graciously came home during daylight hours to deal with the varius animals. He could not find the snake, either it felt very safe in its hiding place or left the same way it got up. But the bird, well that was fun. Sim pulled the oven away from the wall and we saw the bird, but when he removed the pipe, no bird. He found it cowering in the oven/fireplace. So he put on a gardening clove, got the bbq tongs and pulled the bird out. As soon as it was out it got free and flew around the house. We had wisely sent the kids upstairs, Simmy was running around opening the windows and yellig at the bird which way it should go and I was yelling 'not this way'. Finally it flew out one of the open windows. Quite the experience. Glad it is over.

hmmmm....so yelling at the bird is as effective as yelling at a bowling ball! Sometimes it works :)

We had a bird in the house . Mom called Mrs Rabinowitz the Indian lady and she came over and put up sheets from where the bird was in the fire place to the open back door. The bird knew exactly what it was supposed to do and flew out the back door. Next time. y'all should call the local american indian lady to come over and help.

NOW THE REST OF THE STORY.....
We had a big bird that came down the fireplace and was trying to get out into the family room. I asked daddy to please do something about it, he went to the Kollel to learn and then on to work.
He thought maybe it would die before he came home and then he could take it out of the fireplace.
I called Mrs. Rabinowitz and she came over. she was not afraid of the the bird ... together we got it to go out the back door.

sheets, I don't see how we could have managed that. I suggested a box, but that was shot down. Birds in the house are not pretty. (sorry Fry, I meant big, free birds)
