the long way home

i met ephraim shwartz at the airport, we davened maariv together with a minyan . after that i sat down in my seat on the plane it was an exit row and there was noone next to me, that made me very excited then i think the last person got on the plane and sat next to me. it was a chsideshe rabbi type guy who has a shul in brooklyn . he was wearing a bekeshe with the velvet and stuff . this made me feel very consious about watching movies and wich movies i would watch. firstly the movie selection was very poor. the rabbi and i shmoozed for a little bit he said some divrei torahwe talked a little bobov and friedman and then we settled in. he went to sleep so i was able to watch with sandra bullock and the football oplayer, then it was shacharit time because we went so north around iceland we were flying in sweden and norway and its always light there this time of year. i wasnt sure if this was the proper time to daven but since other people did i did too. my seat mate davened for about 2 hours during i felt i shouldnt be watching movies. he doesnt always daven that long but he was very excited to be able to becuase there was nothing else to do. i liked the fact that he davened the whole thing sitting down, he pout his tallis and tefillinon sitting down too and he even switched his bekeshe while sitting down. i listened to a lot of music. so then i watched hurt locker which is a movied about bomb sapper in irag. my seat mate watch it with me and asked me lots of questions including that it couldnt be real as they wouldnt let someone video it like it was done. i told him it was a reenactment of what happened. he was nispoel from the mesiras nefesh that the soldiers had and said we should have the same mesiras nefesh when fighting our yetzer. i told him if we did have that same mesiras nefesh we wouldnt be watching the video! all in all he was very pleasant to sit with and we are best friends now. then i sat around jfk for about 1.5 hours and then i CAME HOME.! yay
i had a great time. thank s to everyone for also having a great time with me.
lets do it again soon with the gontza mishpacha

  • If you ever move here & can't work in your field, you can tell stories. If you want to write, though, you'll need an editor.
We miss you already! Yisrael keeps waking up & looking for his roomie.
