Shaloch Manot cards
Does anyone know of an organization that I can give money to and then they send a special Purim card to my friend out of town that says for their shaloch manot money was given to such and such a place?
For the past 2 years my friend in Chicago always sends me one of those and I never send her anything (because I generally dont send Shaloch Manot to out of towners) but this year I am determined to do it!
But I don't know where to go. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!!!

Why don't you see if Yad Ezra will package a Mishloach Manot to give to a less fortunate person in the name of your friend. Otherwise it's not actually Mishloach Manot. It's just a card.

IMHO Thats wrong. There's matanat l'evyonim, and mishloach manot. Just because your friend acts holier than thou and as if sends you a gift while really giving money to the poor doesnt mean you have to lower yourself to her level. If we were only supposed to give money to the poor, there wouldnt be a mitzva of mishloach manot! If you'd like to give money to poor people, then go ahead, but don't do it as if in the name of mishloach manot. I can already see this trend growing and getting to that point where people will look down on someone who "only" gives food items for mishloach manot and not money to the poor. Stop this abomination while you can!!!

If you'd like, we can send her a card from a worthwhile Israeli cause.
The text of the card will read:
In lieu of mishloach manot, Natalie and Shauli Zacks have expressed their full support of worthwhile Israeli causes. May you be blessed to live many more Purims in drunken bliss.
The front of the card will have a picture of Haman hanging from a noose.

matan beseser here has a card, or you can do what Simmy suggested, give a donation to an organization of your choice and then make up cards saying a donation has been given to ______ in lieu of sending shalach manos.

you can make a check out to ZACKS INC c/o yaakov zacks ad we will send a card. your monet will be put to good use like heating the home of a cold family or filling their car up with gas, there is a 25 dollar minimum donation but when you think about what better way is there to give mishloach manot on puriom then to help a family stay warm in their car while THEY are delivering shaloch manot
