Can someone please explain why an open bottle of wine is chametz???

first of all there shouldnt be such a thing as an opened bottle of wine,why wasnt it finished yet, and even more so you know it has to be gotten rid of finish it before pesach. second of all its chometz because your wife said so,and she is in charge when it comes to what is chometx and what is not, so if she tells you that matza is chometz this year you better not bring it into the house!

It's not Chametz, just like your open toothpaste isn't. Just put it away because you can't use in on Pesach. You can finish it after.

Perhaps you drank from teh bottle and backwashed some cookies in there..So to protect against this happening the rabannim decided it was chametz
