How do you do it

every night it seems like it's a fight to put Jonah to bed. Yet everytime he has been babysat by a member of teh family, they say how he is no trouble and went to sleep without a problem. What tricks do you use to get him to go to sleep. Or does he like Nat and me so much, that he refuses to go to sleep when we are around

7 Comments:

  • Step 1) Put Jonah in bed
Step 2) Walk out of the room
    Step 3) Close the door

  • Be careful, if you get that in the wrong order it could be painful!
    For example:

    1)Close door
    2)Walk out of the room

...and the funny thing is, in 15 years you won't be able to get him out of it!

  • Maybe with living in two houses in two cities he's afraid if you're home and he goes to sleep he'll wake up and you'll have moved.

...or maybe everyone else is lying.

WOW! Just imagining the shrink bill when he blames things on the fact that before he could speak he was moved back and forth so often he didn't know where he was from...

  • Not only relatives can put him to sleep. ANYONE that is not us puts him to sleep. Although it may not work as well if they tried to put him in the crib. Because many times he is just collapsed on the floor when we get home. But he refuses to go to sleep when it's us!

  • You have to let him know you are there, keep putting him back down, giving him his pacifier, covering him with his blanket, and confidently walking out of the room. You can keep repeating this process about every five minutes until he falls asleep. He'll give up eventually. And the next night should take a shorter time and etc.
