Jonah
Between 8 A.M. and 8 P.M. Jonah is pretty much the model child. He's cute he listens, as much as you can expect from a 2 year old, and he enjoys watching and playing sports.
Once 8 P.M. strikes he becomes a devil child, putting him to bed takes about an hour, he wants books read, back rubs, hamalach sang 50 times, he constantly gets out of bed and runs t the living room. It's safe to say on most nights he sucks the evening right out of us. When he gets out of bed to many times we put him in his crib, sometimes this helps. Then he usually wakes up in the middle of the night, and wants to get in our bed. Jonah is a vicious sleeper, for such a small guy he takes u a lot of bed, he moves a lot, and usually ends up sleeping sideways. When we were in St Louis he kicked Nat in the face and gave her a nice little shiner.
Things came to a head last night, he fell asleep after 9:00, at 3 I wake up and see him standing in my face I take him back to his bed and he demands a back rub. I decline this opportunity, because I was tired, and didn't want to set this precedent. This was the start of a 2 hour crying marathon. During which we put him in his crib, but eh just stood and screamed, we put up a gate but that just meant he could scream closer to our door. During the times we rubbed his back, and sang hamalach he was quiet, and it looked like he may fall asleep. But as soon as we stopped the hysterics began anew.
Nat finally got him to sleep, she put a clock in his room, covered up the last two numbers and told him that when the clock said 8, he could come out. Finally it was quiet, we wondered if he would stay up for the next 3 hours watching the clock, waiting till it was 8. Sure enough at about 8:10 I heard Jonah say, it's 8 get up. So I got up with him, and let him watch Sesame Street, and he's been pretty angelic all day today.
