Date Night

Shauli and I have decided to have a date night. Once a week. Leave the baby with a babysitter (we sort of found one in White Oak) and go out. Just the two of us. Ahhh, refreshing. I remember when we first got married people said to have a date night. We didn't have a specific night but we just did stuff together here and there. Well, life has gotten crazier so it's time to step in and take a little time out. This week, Thursday night will be date night (we are eating out for both meals on Shabbas so I don't have to worry about cooking). But now comes the question.....what to do? Where to go? I suggested a movie cuz I miss going to movies but Shauli said that I won't want to talk to him anyway so it kinda defeats the purpose. He wants to find somewhere more fun to go to. So, any suggestions?
Also, our other problem is there is a Pistons game on that night and we're both pretty into the games these days so we don't really want to miss it. Hmmm.......
Look forward to your suggestions. Love, Nat

  • nat,
you have to be more flexible. I don't know if you both have to do the same thing on date night and it doesn't always have to be the same night. So one night you can go to the movies and shauli can go to gershon's for playstation. You still get to use the babysitter.
Also if the stones are on wednesday night you can go out tues or thurs that week.

  • Or a sports bar where you can watch the game, shoot some pool, kill him in air hockey, and be creamed in bball...

  • Or bowling, go karting, walk along the beach, or if there is another nice area.

  • We did it for years, but we called it our sanity night, and the babysitter was our sanity sitter!! Sometimes we just sat in the car onthe driveway, thats how desperate we were!!!!!but we had at least 3 kids by that time

  • Even a movie, lulei demistafina, is time spent together. You can talk about the movie over ice cream afterward.

Bowling, minigolf, other assorted light sports. Boating is great if the weather works, but you might need to retitle it "date afternoon."

  • Why can't your date be on the couch in front of the TV. with benefits. during the commericals.

  • It doesn't matter how many kids you have. Stress is stress and should not be downplayed. I had a rough day yesterday and Arye and I simply took a walk down the block at 11PM.
