shabbos table talk

on shabbos our conversation turned to what my children can do with their tongues. can they just bend them in half like a hot dog bun or can they twist their tongues all the way in a complet twist. in turns out some of them can do that and it is very impressive...i guess. chanalana is the only who is able to raise one eyebrow at a time, at will without scrunching up the whole side of her face. i mentioned how i am able to touch the tip of nose with my tongue and it somehow came out that shauli can actually go up his nose with tongue. this seems to have intrigued ahron very much and now walks around saying, "shauli can put his tongue in his nose, right?"

Nat took off to the airport tonight, despite the cries and pleas of our eldest, and she is en route to the U.S.

Some highlights of my first bedtime as a single dad.
Jonah was wailing mommy, kalya, mommy, kayla I miss you. I went in and told him that I'm also sad, and Sammy is sad, but you have to go to sleep. Sammy interrupted and said, "I'm not sad"

The next time I went into the room to calm Jonah down, sammy informed me that "h"he needs his mommy, he doesn't need his daddy"

After lot of crying, all is now quiet, and I think Jonah has fallen asleep, Sammy is still awake and playing in his bed.
I'm going to have a L'chayim, and drink to the next few weeks passing by quickly.

Sammy was refusing to go to sleep tonight, he stayed awake in his bed even later than usual. A few minutes before 10 I told him that mommy was going to sleep and I was going to shul, so he should lie down.
"Why are you going to shul daddy?" He asked
"To daven to Hashem that you go to sleep" was my awesome reply.
"You should daven for rain"

I walked outside and lo and behold the sky had opened up and rain was falling.

What do I want?

problems i've been having lately

in my quest to become a jedi knight i have come across a few problems. the latest one being finding light saber lessons. i thought perhaps i can take fencing lessons and then start training with the light saber but then i realized fencing is generally done with one hand and the light saber is held with two!
any ideas?

all my kids are sleeping. ahron and shira both have (had-hebrew) birthdays in the coming week and we are having a sunday night shindig at the sherfield zacks residence. all who are hungry can come and eat. i hope this is enough warning for y'all to come home to celebrate. this is a preinvite for yaels bat mitzvah it will iy'h be in june in 3 years, start saving. if you want to wait foa abr mitzvah ahron will iy'h will be in 10 years from yesterday. (we hope he will be toilet trained by then, although we also hope he is not a daddy then too) he tried peeing standing up tonite but i think he had stage fright and just couldnt go, i think next time we'll go again sitting down. we had dunkin donuts for dessert tonite after dinner in honor of ahron starting his 3rd year of life. it was all very exciting.
