stupid NY NY

i am writing this from the "family room " of Richie's other "house". BETH ISRAEL MEDICAL DEACONESS HOSPITAL. well ahron got a fever last night and i went to the rav this am shabbbos morning to ask what to do about it, as we didnt have any infant medicine in the house. we have every type of childrens meds though. buit ahron has already been sick this lifetime so we figured iut wouldnt happen again so soon, so the rav aaid we should probably take him to the hospital and i told him i would rather not, so he said of course you would rather not but that is what you do when a 7 week old has 102.7. so i suggested that i get him some tylenol and we go from there, so washington heights doesnt have an eruv that many people hold of and they dont have easy accesss to neighbores either as every one lives in a n apartment building, so the rav told me to either find a goy to go buy drugs or get them myself. so i was about to go get them as i didnt know any goyim and pinny was at my mom inlaws and suggested he has a friend who prob has some meds and (shhhh) he holds of the eruv when needed. so we got drugs and the fever went a little bit down but then it went back uyp so we gave more meds and back down again, so motzei shabbos we call the doc in dtw who says get him t9o the hospitalk so we called unca richie who ghot us smoothly into BI with nice accommmodaations , devora also has a cousin whi is an ER nurse here so between the 2 of them we were nicely taken care of, the baby has a fever of uinknown origin so they are keeping him for ??48 hrs?? but our plane leaves before then sos maybe we can get out early on good behavior, this is not like last time when ahron was lethargic and not looking well, now he looks fine , is eating,m and sleeping normally but he had a high fever, so now we daven and ait to get to leave, hope all's well with everyone else, and DAD i'll write the letter when we get back.

OK Zacks' We need a letter written. I just got the bill for damages at Crystal Mountain with the "Jacuzzi" experience. They want me to pay $238.00 damages.
I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF CREATIVE JUICES OUT THERE JUST WAITING TO FIRE OFF A LETTER AND I WILL CHOOSE THE BEST OF THE BEST. WE WILL FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE or water with water. WHEN WE ARE DONE WITH THEM THEY WILL BE SEND ING US A CHECK AND A LETTER OF APPOLOGY BEGGING US TO COME BACK TO THEIR JACUZZI. I just dont know exactly how we are going to do this so i am awaiting for your letters. Thank you - the administration.
HERE ARE THE FACTS
1- THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE JACUZZI READ - FILL WATER LEVEL TO ABOVE JETS AND BELOW DRAIN- NO MENTION THAT WE SHOULD DIRECT THE JETS DOWNWARD!
2- I FILLED THE JACUZZI AND LEFT AN UNNAMED 16 YR OLD GIRL ALONE WITH THE "J"
3 A SHORT TIME LATER THERE WAS A CALL FROM THE 16 YR OLD GIRL TO 'HOUSTON' SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG
4- THE ROOM AND BASEMENT UNDERNEATH LOOKED LIKE THE CITY OF ATLANTIS AFTER THE BUBBLE BROKE.
THERE YOU HAVE IT- I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR HELP

The truth

First I'd like to thank all those who remembered my birthday and called, for those who didn't...SHAME ON YOU

Now I'd like to apologize to Batch/Shevy/batcheva/batsheva with the true story of my wonderful birthday, and a bit of midda knedded midda story.

I truly feel older on this birthday, perhaps I'm even starting to lose my mind.
I had a 5:05 flight home from Baltimore today, but my meetings ended earlier than expected so I called and transferred to a 12:30 flight. I figured I could get home early and surprise Nat.

I arrived to the airport in plenty of time, sat down to read my book, right in front of gate A5. As 12:30 approached there was no plane at the gate, I assumed there was a delay to the weather. At 12:30 I got went to the desk to see how long the delay was, and I noticed the delayed flight was to Orlando. I looked at my ticket and realized I wanted A3.

I ran over to A3 but there was nobody at the gate, I went to the counter and asked if there was anyway I could get on the plane. She asked me if I was Zack, they had called my name a couple times. She tried to call the plane, but they had just pushed off, and there was no turning back. I wanted to know how they could leave if my was still on the plane. On the bright side, when I did land I didn't have to wait for my bag, it was already waiting for me.

I stood there and watched my plane leave without me. And I had to sit around till my original flight, the 5:05 one, took off.

While I waited, I heard them call for late passengers numerous times, and I don't believe that they called my name, because I would have heard it. I may be getting old, but my hearing is still pretty good. I did make good use of the time, I finished the book I was reading, watched 2 episodes of Entourage and the movie Basic, which despite seeing it twice, I still don't quite get it.

I guess this is my punishment for enjoying shevys similar story, which happened in the same airport, and the same airline. So once again I'm sorry

the airport

Shauli went to the airport in Pittsburgh, or was it Baltimore, he wasn't really sure. He did spend some time looking out the window at the airplanes going high up in the sky, thinking that he would like to go on one of those. He saw a bunch of people walking and he assumed they were going his way. The gate he stopped in front of said 4A. He knew that the gate he was supposed to go to had both a letter and a number, so this one might be it. The fact that this plane was going to Hungary, didn't bother him in the least. Until the gate agent told him that his ticket to Detroit wouldn't get him anywhere in Europe. They had someone come and show him exactly where his gate was and told him to stay there until they called his name.

Happy Birthday Shu.

happy birthday shu!!

fluffy cloud

My Turn.
I am a fluffy white cloud floating over the Galilean hills. There is a lot of condensation in the air, which I feed on like a yeshiva boy at an all you can eat restaurant. Afterwards, I feel rather bloated, like maybe the last suck of moisture from the air wasn't really necessary. I am no longer just fluffy, now I am obese. I feel sick and I'm turning green. As I look around at the neighboring clouds, it seems like all the guys pigged out as well. Last time this happened...PUKE, it looks like all that water is just going to start coming out whether I want it to or not. At the same time, I must be getting a cold, because I can't stop sneezing or coughing. I knew I should have listened to mom and worn a scarf today. My coughing is awfully loud, it must be scaring the children and when I sneeze, the whole sky lights up.
Now that all the water is out of me, I feel myself fading away in the sunlight. There's only a little bit of me left....

The Bird's Story

It was sometime Shabbat afternoon; maybe it was the morning, I'm not so good with time. I was flying through Jerusalem, on my way to circling the Kotel, when the sky starting getting overcast. Looking down, I saw a partially open door in the city. Thinking it may be a warm place to wait out the upcoming storm I let myself in. But then it happened; the moment that changed my life forever. When I flew in to that home, that warm little home, I clipped my wing. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't reacted so strongly. I flew around the house, banging into walls, doors, closets, and whatever else I could hit. Next thing I knew I was on the floor in the kitchen, gasping for air. I tried to get up and couldn't. No, I said, no, it can't be! If I can't fly, then what am I worth? What? Again and again I tried to move, only to be rejected by nature. I passed in and out of consciousness as the day passed me by. Somewhere in the recesses of my pain numbed mind I heard a noise I hadn't heard before. Yet I knew it was the sound of a door opening. Voices approached me. I prayed that held was near, but trembled at the possible danger. I saw the human before it saw me. But only moments before. The voice that I had heard turned into a scream of shock! The woman left and I heard her talking to another human. But what about me, I wanted to ask them, what are you going to do for me? They murmured together, that man and that woman, and then they disappeared. Then the man reappeared, holding a broom. I lay there trembling, wishing to move but not being able, while the man waved a broom at me. I did a pathetic crawl/walk trying to get away, while the man and woman watched me. Somehow they managed to corner me next to a window, which they promptly opened. Knowing what would happen next, I tried to bury myself under some shopping bags. But I was no match for that man. He reached down, his hands wrapped around a shopping bag, and grabbed me from my place of refuge. I shook a mighty shake, as the fear overwhelmed me, and the man lost his grip. Again I tried to hide, and again he caught me. This time he lifted me high enough and threw me out the window. I managed to flap my wings enough to slow down my descent, and I landed gracefully on the cold wet sidewalk. Rain was mercilessly beating down on me as I quickly tried to find a warm, safe refuge. I saw the man watching me as I beat my wings, beat them to no avail, while hopping in circles. Then he turned around and left. From the corner of my eye, I saw the woman look at me. A look of horror filled her face, a look I thought was directed at me, at how pathetic I appeared. Chills passed through me as I realized what she knew but was as powerless as I was to stop. All I wished for was it to end quick. The black cat jumped out of the bush, and in one quick move, I was gone. The last thing I saw before those sharp teeth and that swishing tail was the woman's hand go up to her face in shock and disgust as she saw the darker side of nature take it's course.

what to do

my eldest got in trouble yesterday in school we got a call from the principa; telling us that she was in the office because she hit aanother kid in the face. this is very unlike my daughter to act outlike this in school so we asked the principal what happened she told us there was a girl that was climbing on my daughters desk and "getting in her personal space" when she lashed out and attacked. the principal said the only reason daughter was in office was because while they were talking in th hall everyone was watching and daughter was embarrassed. but the other girl was also at fault.
when my wife told me this i said "good for her, what the heck is this girl getting in her personal space and i'm glad my daughter is able to defend her space like the mountaingoat she is named after.
my wife felt that it was not good for her to do that and i have to stand behind her and back her up in our stern discussion of the situation. i said of course she she shouldnt have lashed out (but i'm glad she can)
what do you think?
ADDENDUM:
it has been brought to my attention that people may get the wrong idea from what i wrote, my eldest is an exemplary student with no previous record of badness. she loves her trachers and her school and is very mild mannered. this incident is totally OUT OF CHARACTER and that is why i felt it to be newsworthy to find out what to do about it, not to spread evil things about my daughter. she seems to need more TLC as there have been numerous household changes in the past few weeks

Billboard

We saw a billboard that said "Aura, this one's for you"

Hot Tub

It's ironic that this happened on David's birthday.

At Crystal we stayed in a 5 bedroom chalet, a few minutes from the slopes. The master bedroom had a HOT TUB (Ok, it was really a whirl pool or something, but it could have been a hot tub) the arrangement was that each couple would get time in the pool, to soothe our sore bodies. Batch/Shevy, got to go first, next thing we know, the bedroom is soaking wet, and the water soaks through the floor, int the basement. A couple of basement ceiling tile got so soaked they came crashing down.

What happened in that tub, I dunno, you'll have to wait until she posts her story. Unfortunately, the parents house has no electricity, so you'll have to wait.

hot tub deuce

so here's the new story
we were all in a small townhouse mountainside at crystal MTN crunched into the 5 bedrooms that came with the place,a jacuzzi and 4 full bathrooms, a kitchen, dining area, living room, basement with a foosball and ping pong table and 2 fireplaces. so we were all very excited to go skiing too and after the first day of skiing someone decided they would take a jacuzzi, (is it like taking a shower, to take a jacuzzi?) well this person shall remain name less in this blog beause she felt very bad about the whole incident ,i mean by her using it first it stopped everyone else from using it the rest of the night, it also brought countless maintenance people and lots of vacuums and blowers. at least she got to relax before the incident and apparently DURING the incident. she claims to have not fallen asleep during the incident as well. well because of thincident, the bed and all the linen had to be changed. all the clothing in the room went into the dryer and the basement also got wet. yup 2-3 ceiling tiles fell because of this incident. well the jacuzzi "exploded" and soaked the million dollar townhouse thru and thru....OOPS but we played scattergories and taboo instead. and we also had a great time skiing WOOHOO!

Jonah

Between 8 A.M. and 8 P.M. Jonah is pretty much the model child. He's cute he listens, as much as you can expect from a 2 year old, and he enjoys watching and playing sports.

Once 8 P.M. strikes he becomes a devil child, putting him to bed takes about an hour, he wants books read, back rubs, hamalach sang 50 times, he constantly gets out of bed and runs t the living room. It's safe to say on most nights he sucks the evening right out of us. When he gets out of bed to many times we put him in his crib, sometimes this helps. Then he usually wakes up in the middle of the night, and wants to get in our bed. Jonah is a vicious sleeper, for such a small guy he takes u a lot of bed, he moves a lot, and usually ends up sleeping sideways. When we were in St Louis he kicked Nat in the face and gave her a nice little shiner.

Things came to a head last night, he fell asleep after 9:00, at 3 I wake up and see him standing in my face I take him back to his bed and he demands a back rub. I decline this opportunity, because I was tired, and didn't want to set this precedent. This was the start of a 2 hour crying marathon. During which we put him in his crib, but eh just stood and screamed, we put up a gate but that just meant he could scream closer to our door. During the times we rubbed his back, and sang hamalach he was quiet, and it looked like he may fall asleep. But as soon as we stopped the hysterics began anew.

Nat finally got him to sleep, she put a clock in his room, covered up the last two numbers and told him that when the clock said 8, he could come out. Finally it was quiet, we wondered if he would stay up for the next 3 hours watching the clock, waiting till it was 8. Sure enough at about 8:10 I heard Jonah say, it's 8 get up. So I got up with him, and let him watch Sesame Street, and he's been pretty angelic all day today.

Never boring

So Tal decided that it was too boring at home and he wanted to see what a night in the hospital would be like so he jumped from the top of the couch and landed on his head!!!! Well now he knows he does not enjoy the hospital. Hopefully all is fine and they can come home today, it all depends on if he throws up any more. Its so hard for me to sit here and not be with him, but the hospital is no place for a month old baby. We'll let you know.
