At least he doesn't lack confidence...

I was pitching some balls to Jonah the other day, and he was upset that he missed a few pitches. I told him not to be upset, even the best greatest baseball players miss more than they hit. A few minutes later, after he smacked a couple of pitches past me, he proclaimed that he is the greatest hitter ever.

A few minutes later, Nat, who was watching us play from inside, said encouragingly to Jonah, Wow, you're really good. Jonah, barely looked up and said "I know"

Hope everyone has an easy and meaningful fast.

Happy New Year Everyone

Shana Tova and Gmar Chatima Tova. Tizku L'Mitzvot and may you have a year filled with life, happiness, health, and wealth.

Hope everything had a meaningful Rosh Hashana, and the Israeli faction of the Loop enjoyed a little taste of home with a 3 day yom tov. We had a nice time we ate out for 6 of 6 meals, which had its ups and downs. Yaakov put his kids to bed in teh middle of the meal the first night so poor Jonah had no one to play with, a theme that repeated at all three night meals, poor Jonah, was kept up so late this week, but he stood up to the challange. All in all we had a nice time, bonded with David and Shany and Shilo , and prayed to the good lord for good year.
Hope Yom Kippur is just as fun :)

A Miracle In Southfield

Its eruv Rosh Hashannah and David and I are going to drive to shul. Mr Stebbins calls and asked for a ride for him and Gil. OK- A M Silverstein calls and wants a ride- OK. Mr Graff calls and asks for a ride - OK. Now there are too many people for my car, so I decided that David would drive my car and I would take Moms car so we could pick every one up. Good. Thursday morning I walk to shul and LO and Behold my little hybrid car is running. It wasnt turned off. A 3 day yom tov and my car is running!. Friday morning it is still running. Shabbat morning she is still running. Sat night, I get into the car and just put it into gear and away I drove. WOW.

PS Auntie Cheryl had a baby boy and so did Devorah"s brother- their 6th boy. All brisses will be on Friday B"H .
MAY WE ALL BE INSCRIBED IN THE BOOK OF LIFE

Rise up like a lion

I woke up this morning, very early for selichos, and the clock showed 1 minute till the alarm went off. Instead of waiting, spending the extra minute in bed, I leapt up, which scared the crap out of Nat (who was up feeding Sammy). When she asked what just happened, I told her that I was going to turn off the alarms before they rang, so as not to disturb anyone.

She pointed out that it was 4:29, not 5:29. So I went back to sleep for an hour.

Not quite shofar

Right after Simmy left for Maariv last night, yod and gail ran in the house( they were playing in the yard)Yod yelled,"I heard a shofar." and Gail said, "It wasn't as strong as if Hashem did it, but it was loud." So I started laughing and then she added "well it was either a bus or a shofar, but one of them" at which point my laughing got louder.
Ahhhh children!

Shilo is not old enough for school, but he did go to baby University for a day, where he learned such skills as rolling over and how to play with toys.

FIRST OF ALL....

i have no kids. so im gonna put up pictures of...

me!
also, EVERYONE TELL MOM TO THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!

Our Kids

If everyone else is doing it......Here are our kids

look ma, no helmet

we've gone from this ...........................................to this! no helmet, woohoo!

First and second day

Here are all the kids ready on the first day and Yod, all casted up and ready for the second day.
O.K. Funny Thing 1 story One teacher called her math group but it wasn't supposed to be their math day and she didn't bring those books. So the principal corrected the teacher and she said sorry to the class. So my darling daughter basically said I told you so and her teacher basically said shut your mouth, so she put a piece of tape over her mouth and when the teacher asked her a question she showed she couldn't answer. That one is a handful.
Sad Yod story; Yod came to call me almost at the end of school because he fell and hit his head, but I couldn't really go get him with my hands being full of little kids, so I told him to wait the half hour and I will meet him when he gets off the bus. So he went back to class and the teacher yelled at him. So Yod, being a sensitive, first grader burt into tears, and when that teacher was the teacher that had to wait for the kids to get on the bus, he freaked out because he didn't want to be near her. My friend was walking by called me and then walked him home, because he refused to get on the bus where that teacher was standing. So this stupid rteacher just ruined Yod liking her or her class and made a sensitive first grader cry for no reason because she likes to yell. So sad!!

First Grade!?

Who knew that Yehudah was alreeady in first grade?

2nd grade + 1st grade + preschool= $$$$$$$

who doesn't take a picture on the first day of school

woohoo, all the kids are back in school, and they all said they had a great day

we had to sharpen 70 pencils for school 40 for yael and 30 or shira. didnt they ever hear of resharpening a pencil??? what do they do break a point and throw it out. if everyone in yaels class brings n their 40 pencils they should have 880 pencils! is that really necessary.

also whats with the $15 charge for "special projects" for pre nursery. the $3000 dollar tuition doesnt cover the $15 project???? they cant add $15 to my tuition? i'd rather pay $3015 than this way. i hate being nickel and dimed after paying tuition.

devo also started school today teaching 7th grade math but she was very busy getting all the kids things in order and then ahron has a bad cold and she took him to the doctor today.

I've been to the hopistol twice in three days and gonna go more. Last time I did that I was constipated and had an IV and catscan. This time I am seeing double. It started last friday. We thought it was jetlag cause we got home that day. Zayde came and said this is serious and to go to the hopistol. We went friday for 8 hours, 6 of them were spent waiting. we left and came back today, sunday, after school they said I have to do an MRI and MRA. Now I only see double when I'm not trying to look. It got a lot better over Shabbos and I've now been to the hopistol 7 times in my life and I have to go back 2 more times. 1st day back was great.
