a lot of driving

well here is the end of the story. at 9:30ish the car fix it place called and said the problem is the alternator (DUH!) and that it would take until 12ish to get the part, thats when i decided we needed to rent a car and drive home, because they took so long we were unable to get to NY as there were 7 hours until shabbos but 6.5 hours of driving time, too close especially going to NY. so we drove home dejected. we had a very good meal friday night at home catered by Milaine and we had lunch at shu and nat's. then this morning i had to driv back to youngstown to get my car and return the rental. dad was a trooper and decided he wanted to come with me on the drive, and he did . so together we drove to youngstown picked up my van dropped of the rental and drove back home via subway in cleveland. so here are the stats, total driving time in the last few days 16 hours, total money spent in the last few days close to $1000. devo thinks for that kind of money next time we fly. i hope next time it wont cost that kind of money.

Trips to the Dentist

D - no cavities
F - one cavity
N - no cavities (x-rays of grown-up teeth are looking like they won't make their first appearance until age 8!)

almost doesnt count...

we almost made it to Pennsylvania... but at the end of the turnpike my headlights turned off, and then the inside lights dimmed and then the dvd players turned and then the engine sputtered for a little bit and then it died... so i called dad who offered to pick us up, THANKS DAD, but instead of that i called the cops and AAA. the cops came, it was getting cold in the car the temp not reaching much out of the single digits (outside the car). at this point all of the children decided to cry loudly for a long time. finally the cop came, he lit some flares and left then the tow truck came and he towed us while we were in the car into youngstown. here we are at an econo lodge with free wi-fi and trying to figure out what to do tomorrow

bye

we're going to drive to NY for shabbos to see the inlaw family :)
have a good shabbos

What was in Sammy's diaper..and other news

A little black button, much like corn, it didn't get digested.

In other news, B'nai Brith basketball season started today, and I did something I've never done before. I read Thomas the Tank Engine and 5 Little Monkeys to Jonah while I was sitting on the bench...We won the game by 30+ points.

Friday night we had some company for dinner, our friends have a son Jonah's age, and a 7 year old. They were throwing balls upstairs and we told them that if they want to throw balls they should go downstairs. A half hour later or so, we heard a loud noise. I went to check it out, I heard the oldest boy say " We should call my Abba" then I heard Jonah say something like, My dad's not going to be happy about this. I get downstaiirs and discover that one of the boys threw a hard ball at the fluorescent bulb. It blew up all over the carpet. Not so easy to clean, but we think it' s all good now.

Nothing really new on the Aliyah front, we still have to fill out our Tik Aliyah, and apply for Nefesh B nefesh. And we have to hope that our house sells, or rents, otherwise we will wait and try again a different time.

My birthday

Just out of curiosity, if I was Israel, would the family come to a birthday party, or since it's farther then a ten minute drive then no party.

feeling a little loopy

I seemed to have pulled a muscle in my leg and it hurts a lot especially while sitting in a car!
Devorah lost 12 POUNDS doing weight watchers and curves WOOHOO!!!!
Yael is the only one who got 100% on a test in her whole reading group!
Shira is doing great reading, she read a whole book to me and it had hard words!
Chanalana likes to eat pudding everyday after school and then she wants a snack!
Ahron is a walking talking little joy, if only his sounds that he keeps making would turn into words...
also ahron likes to play in the garbage and the toilet, we need to keep both shut all the time and chanalana like s to write. she takes lined paper and goes line after line basically making the same symbol over and over and pointing out which are which letters and then telling us what she wrote and shira likes to eat oatmeal for breakfast unless there are bananas and rice krispies, and yael also got a fruit by the foot today from her substitute ( this is good because last substitute kicked her out)
and 2 fish died over shabbos

Update on my Moral dilemma

Remember my moral dilemma about delivering a pair of glasses to an almost blind elderly black lady or davening mincha with a minyan and I decided to deliver the glasses. After exhaustive research I have the final answer. I WAS WRONG !!!! HERE IS A LIST OF THE JURY

JACK BELEN - GUILTY

RABBI LAUER JR- GUILTY

RABBI CHAIM SILVERSTEIN - GUILTY

RABBI IRONS- GUILTY

RABBI MATISYAHU SALOMON- GUILTY

RABBI DOV LOKETCH INNOCENT

The bottom line is that if there is absolutely no benefit to me. it is ossur to do a chesed for an ano yuhudi- If there is a poosible kidush hashem or possible hatred being caused- or any benefit than it is muter

your a liar and a thief and a drunk

we are going to Michael's today. (the arts and crafts store) only because there is no other place to get what we need. kind of the same reason we shop at one stop but i digress.
a few months ago shuali natalai and us bought jazzi a birthday gift . it was a gift card to Michael's. when she went to use it they told her there was no money on it and it must have been stolen . i wrote a letter to them with a list of demands in order for us to shop there again my demands would have to be met. i never got a response and i dont want to shop there. they basically called me a thief. why should i give them any more of my money? but we need frames for some pictures and they have the build your own kind of frames that are less expensive so we have to go there. but i am not happy about it!

Update

We met with our real estate person, and he recommended waiting until spring to put our house on the market, due to two other houses on our block on the market for much less then we will ask.

In the meantime he made some recommendations for us, like painting the house, replacing some of the light fixtures, and having it cleaned professionally. The sucky thing about all this is fixing it up, for other people to enjoy.

Devorah said they will come and have a painting party with us, feel free to come to the U.S. and help out. I will provide pizza.

So that is our story...hopefully we will make our house very pretty and someone will want to buy, or rent, it..

Naomi's exciting day

Naomi's gym teacher brought Naomi home from school yesterday. She fell during gym, the last class of the day. So I drove her to the hospital with a throwup Aura and her daddy met us there so I could go back home with my throwup Aura. They spent three and a half hours there. They gave her pain killers, set and cast her arm and took a bunch of exrays. She said she heard the click when they set it and it hurt. Then her daddy too her out for dinner to a nice restaraunt. She said it wasn't worth breaking her wrist to go out for dinner!! And today she got the day off school.

Have a great shabbat all!!
