One Big Happy Family
Someone posted on Facebook about a website called Spokeo.com that is like an online phone book and has all kinds of personal information about you. I went to see what it said about me (do I live in Israel? Oak Park? Southfield) and it has me living on Jeanette which is understandable. And these are the members of our household:
Arye - Male, 20's and Decision Maker
Aviva - Female, 30's and Decision Maker
Batsheva - 20's and Female
David - 20's Male, Child
Gessica - 30's Male
Dad - 50's Male Parent
Mom - 50's Female Parent
Shauli - 20's Male Child
Sim - 30's Male
Natalie - 30's Female Child
So it sounds like Mom and Dad have a full house!!

My neighbor, Chavi, is making an album for Naomi. So if you can all think of a nice message, it would enhance the book. Thanks

First attempt at making pizza...not the greatest I've ever tasted, but not too discouraging either...

Bat Mitzvah
Hey,
Just wanted to remind everyone that we are, in the Zacks tradition, having a casual Bat Mitzvah. We are playing with fire and such, so no need to dress fancy.
Look forward to partying with ya'll.

צדקה
We are currently learning הלכות צדקה from פניני הלכה by ר' אליעזר מלמד (http://www.yeshiva.org.il/midrash/shiur.asp?cat=384&id=7238&q=) after mincha at work & two things were mentioned this week that I thought I'd share, as we've discussed this previously.
1. Giving צדקה to non-deserving people doesn't count as a מצוה. His source is בבא קמא ט"ז עמוד ב.
2. People at the door should be given something but not a large amount. "Something" is probably enough to buy some food, which he says is 1/2 NIS. Other opinions are that a pruta is enough - 2-3 agorot. The source is בבא בתרא ט עמוד א
