for the purims and the purim nots

rabbi eisenberger gave a dvar halachah this morning with dad in mind so here goes,
if someone from outside of jlem goes into jlem on sunday (ie. for a bris) then it is purim for the outsider but not for the insider, the outsider must say al hanisim (davening, bentching), the question that still remains is is the seudah he eats in jlem (ie, seudat brit) considered to be a purim seudah. and a jlem resident who goes outside of jlem on 14 adar would NOT say al hanisim as it is not purim for him.

Jonah

Three Jonah takes.

1. Jonah and I were watching the Pistons - Bulls game yesterday afternoon, and at the same time playing with his little people. The announcer mentioned "Chicago" Jonah looked up from his toys and said, "Chicago, they play football -They were in the Super Bowl." I was shocked he remembered - most people don't even remember the losing team.

2. It seems as if our no nap plan for Jonah has backfired. He is now used to no nap, and has adjusted himself, so once again, we fight to get him to bed starting at 8:30. If he does get a nap, forget about it, he's up all night.

3. After talking to some of our friends with kids Jonahs age, it seems as if we have a boy genius on our hands, he can recognize 0-9 and most of the ABC's. Is this normal for a 2 and half year old, or do we have a prodigy on our hands???

Hey all, happy Rosh Chodesh....Mercaz HaRav is blasting music away now in honor of the chodesh....We had a wonderful dinner tonight, Shany made an excellent fish (marlusa in Hebrew. Maybe in English also.) and I made French onion soup. I don't like the French so I really made onion soup with bread and cheese. Nothing French to do with it. Anyway, we were looking at the hilchot Shabbat book and it seems to say pretty clearly that in order to open a Coke bottle on Shabbat you need to poke a hole in the cap so it's not a kli and then you can open the bottle. Otherwise if you just open it you are making a kli. Clearly we don't agree with that. Why not?

I'm off to take my first final of this millenium. I had a very productive study day yesterday :) My sink is fixed, two loads of laundry are done, I am almost done organzing a shabbaton, and oh yeah....I studied.

THE JACUZZI INCIDENT

THIS IS MY LETTER TO CRYSTAL
Dear Sir :


Enclosed is the payment for damages to the condo.
I would like you to mail it back to me!. There was NO negligence on our part in this unfortunate accident. If there was any negligence ,I would feel completely responsible.
I followed the instructions next to the Jacuzzi completely. It explicitly said that the only instructions were to make sure that the water was above the jets and below the drainage. I did that. There was no mention that the jets should be pointed downward to prevent an overflow!
If I had left the Jacuzzi unattended, that would be negligent, but I didn’t. There was a 16 yr old in the room with the Jacuzzi at all times. If the 16 yr old didn’t react in a normal manner and didn’t try to stop the overflow immediately that would have been negligent but she reacted as fast as she could and did turn off the jets as quick as possible.
If I hadn’t notified the office immediately, that would have been negligent , but we called immediately. If I didn’t co-operate completely with office that would have been negligent but we let them in and co-operated completely. In short- we did everything properly and therefore I am not responsible for this accident.
Perhaps better instructions on the Jacuzzi would have prevented this accident.
I am very disappointed in Crystal Mountain’s reaction however!
My vacation was partialy ruined due to this. After a long day of sking- relaxing in a Jacuzzi was looked forward to by myself and my guests. A true RESORT would have offered to make amends for our loss. A reduction in our room rate would have been reasonable or an invitation to spend another night to make up for the disastrous night that we had experienced.
I think a reasonable resolution to this situation is that you should apply the refund that you should have offered me, to cover the damages.

this one is my roomie
she was pushed on the bus
by someone passing
and she bumped crazy lady

Here's the story of an innocent lady
that's me, I was on the phone with Veev
Just talking about nothing
when i was hit with spit

See crazy lady yelled at roomie
that she bumped right into her
and while roomie appologized profusely
it was not enough

As we got off the bus the yelling continued
and then crazy lady did the the dirty dead
she looked at roomie and spit
but with no aim she hit me

And that's the way I came to be hit by spit.
